Thrive Acupuncture Edmonton was founded by Dr. Andrea Wingrave, a registered Acupuncturist with over 15 years of experience in acupuncture and complementary medicine.
Andrea was an engineer until her own health issues led her to the discovery of her true passion- health and wellness through acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Andrea graduated with honours from MacEwan University’s Traditional Chinese Medicine program in 2008 and has become a trusted expert in the field of acupuncture. She has dedicated her life to helping patients achieve optimal health and well-being. She has a deep understanding of the body’s natural healing mechanisms and uses acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other modalities to help her patients overcome a wide range of health conditions.
At Thrive Acupuncture Edmonton , we tailor treatments based on your unique health needs and goals. Whether you are dealing with chronic pain, mental health issues, fertility concerns, or other health conditions, we are here to support you on your journey to optimal health.
When an acupuncturist inserts needles into certain points on the body, they stimulate the body to heal itself, to bring itself back to balance. Electrical signals are sent through our nerves to the brain and as a result, hormones and endorphins are released. The needles encourage blood flow and the reduction of inflammation. The treatments are inherently relaxing because the needles trigger our parasympathetic nervous system which calms our body and mind.
Acupuncture is a safe and effective complementary health practice that can treat a number of health conditions including chronic pain, mental health issues, fertility concerns, among other health conditions.

Andrea is wonderful. She is so thorough and helpful without being aggressive. She’s knowledgeable and can address any/all of your concerns with acupuncture. If it’s something beyond her expertise she will make suggestions that have helped me and my family tremendously. Her energy is positive and beautiful. I look forward to my appointments with her. The results are definitely not temporary!
Andrea is a kind and thoughtful practitioner. I went to her for acupuncture and cupping to relieve pain from a chronic back injury. She took a detailed history, provided excellent care, and gave me advice on ways to manage my pain in-between visits. I highly recommend Thrive Acupuncture for anyone who is looking for wholistic and compassionate care.
Andrea is exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and friendly – I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my treatments with her. Her experience, especially with pregnancy, is obvious in her practice. You will always feel welcome and comfortable in her care.
